Learn with Hedgehog Cynthia— November & December 2017
Private Lessons: Cynthia is available for private lessons in knit and crochet. She teaches both Continental/German style knitting and American/English style knitting. Contact her about private lessons by calling the store. Payment for all classes/lessons is made directly to the instructor by check or cash, payable at the first session.
For classes please sign up by contacting the store (439-9221). Classes with fewer than 3 students will generally be canceled, but you can reschedule for private lessons on the topic.
Basic tool kit for classes: removable stitch markers, scissors, tapestry or Chibi needle, notebook & pencil, tape measure or ruler, small crochet hook.
Please remember that Cindy’s Northern Crafts can only stay in business if you support the store. Please purchase yarns and supplies for classes there.
Help Doctor–drop in HELP! for knitting and crochet
(You do not need to sign up for this class. It is ongoing on Thursdays.)
You bring in your project for help, encouragement, analysis, fun. You’ll get your questions answered and learn the answer to all the other participants’ questions that come up. Techniques covered will add to your knitting/crocheting skills as you spend time with other fiber enthusiasts.
Skills needed: knowledge of basic knitting (k & p) or crochet (ch, sc, dc) stitches
Supplies: pattern, yarn for project, several choices of hooks or needles near the one called for in your pattern, basic tools as listed at top
Most Thursdays, 1:00–3:00; there is no fee for this class for the rest of the year 2017. I’m asking that you make a donation to help fund the NWMI Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build in Alanson.
Beginning in January the Help! Doctor drop in class will move to Wednesdays from 11:30 to 1:00. After you get back on track with your project, join in on Open Knit from 1:00 to 3:00.
Build your own class — Pick a technique or project and some friends who want to join you in a learning adventure. I will tailor the class(es) to your interests and schedule. We can gather at the store or in someone’s home. Endless possibilities! For example a learn to knit or crochet gathering. Your group will most likely need two or three 2-hour sessions to learn and be comfortable with the basics of either knitting or crochet.
